Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Refyne browser extension and related services (collectively, "Refyne" or the "Service"), operated by us. By installing or using Refyne, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Refyne is a browser extension that analyzes and rewrites text prompts intended for use with third-party AI platforms (including but not limited to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity). Refyne is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or Perplexity AI.

2. Free trial and subscriptions

• Free tier. New installs receive 10 lifetime prompt enhancements at no cost, subject to daily and rate limits described in the extension.
• Pro subscription. Refyne Pro is a recurring monthly subscription billed at $9.00/month through our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy. Pro removes usage limits and unlocks additional features as described on our pricing page.
• Billing. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel anytime through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal link provided in your receipt email.
• Refunds. Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact hello@refyne.app within 7 days of a charge for a refund request.
• Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, your account reverts to the Free tier after the grace period provided by Lemon Squeezy's retry logic. You will be notified by email.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Refyne to:

• Generate prompts intended to produce illegal content, malware, or material that violates the terms of service of the AI platform you're using
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the extension beyond what is permitted by open-source licensing, if applicable
• Abuse rate limits through automated scripts, multiple device IDs, or other circumvention methods
• Resell or redistribute access to the Service without our written permission

4. Third-party AI platforms

Refyne operates as a layer on top of third-party AI platforms. We have no control over and are not responsible for the output, availability, pricing, or terms of service of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, or any other platform Refyne integrates with. Your use of those platforms remains subject to their own respective terms.

5. AI-generated output

The rewritten prompts Refyne produces are generated by a third-party large language model. We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or fitness for any particular purpose of this output. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated content before relying on it.

6. Intellectual property

Refyne, including its branding, design, and underlying code, is the property of its creators. Your prompt content remains your own — we claim no ownership over text you submit for enhancement.

7. Limitation of liability

Refyne is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated output or downtime of third-party AI platforms.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service for any user found to be in violation of these Terms, including abuse of free trial limits or attempts to circumvent rate limiting.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Refyne after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
